Deep Waters

But the minute you cross the Jordan River and settle into the land GOD, your GOD, is enabling you to inherit, he'll give you rest from all your surrounding enemies.  You'll be able to settle down and live in safety.

Deuteronomy 12:10

I read the story of the Woman at the Well a couple of days ago, and I love it when she realizes that Jesus knows everything about her and is still sitting there talking to her. He is giving her a taste of Living Water, yet she doesn't even know it! He has her completely captivated by His love. This is something she wants in her own life, she wants to be able to dip down into the depths of the water He is talking about and live it!  He is inviting her into deep waters.

As I've continued to think about the story throughout the week, it occured to me that for her to have the Living Water, she had to step out in deep water not really knowing what would happen.  She was invited to believe,  be aware, and challenged beyond her current belief system. It was faith. It was stepping out into deep waters into her Promised Land.

When I asked God about stepping into deep waters for myself, taking more steps of faith in areas of my life, He reminded me that when I've done that in the past, He always parts the waters. He does not allow me to step into deep waters and drown when I keep my focus on His promises. He sees me through to the other side and He delivers me from my enemies, and then when I've made it through, He settles me down into a place of safety.

Praying for you today that you will see yourself drenched in His love, and when you step out into the deep waters of your life, You will know that He is there to give you your Promised Land.

Regret Not

Scripture reassures us, "No one who trusts God like this--heart and soul--will ever regret it."

Romans 10:11

To live life trusting God with all your heart and soul is to live all in, fully without looking back. There are no regrets, because with that much trust, regret is dissolved. Oh the beauty of dancing in trust with God! Do you live a life of no regret? Do you run with Him in total trust deep within your heart and soul? Do you know with all your being that whatever is and whatever will be, is because you trust in Him? He Is the God of your heart, therefore regret cannot manage you!

If you are examining your life and seeing areas of regret, let today be the day you give it over to the God of your soul. He can take it from you forever. He is beside you to offer you freedom and eternal hope from the regrets that hover over you and hold you captive. He has so much for you, and He is happy to give it to you for free, no strings attached.

No need to look back, just move ahead with joy. But, if regret begins to creep in, ask for trust to chase it out and claim the promise He has given you to never regret your choice!

Rebuilding your Heart

"Afflicted city, storm-battered, unpitied, I'm about to rebuild you with stones of turquoise, lay your foundations with sapphires, construct your towers with rubies, your gates with jewels, and all your walls with precious stones. All your children will have GOD for their teacher--what a mentor for your children!

Isaiah 54:11-13

God is renewing our hearts and minds on a daily basis, this is something very beautiful about Him. Lately, though, I have recognized that in my life, He is not only renewing, He has been rebuilding for several years. He has taken me down to the roots and sorted through every one of them. He has thrown the old dead ones away, keeping the strong ones that will be able to nourish and thrive. Then, He began and continues to rebuild the foundation of my life. This has been a long, painful process. I've had days of despair, mostly because I was not ready to give up the old useless pieces that He wanted to rebuild, also days of immense joy in seeing all that is possible with Him.

As He has tenderly worked in my life and placed a firm foundation that is strong, and presses into His presence, He has added beauty that withstands the storms. The rebuilding of my storm-battered heart has opened new opportunities to grow and live with fullness. There are times that storms wash over me, and I get to see the fruit of His rebuilding handiwork. The strength of sapphire that keeps my foundation from falling down, the height of rubies that test the strength of the firm foundation brings discernment and endurance. He has bathed the gates of my heart in jewels, opening me to new friendships and the vulnerability of love.

Is God rebuilding your life?  Can you look at your life and see the areas He is rebuilding with a firmer foundation? Have your children seen His handwork, and called Him their God? Are you thriving through the storms of life? Today is your day to dance in celebration over the beautiful job God is doing in your life!

The Power to Win

God sent me to announce the year of his grace--a celebration of God's destruction of our enemies--and to comfort all who mourn, to care for the needs of all who mourn in Zion, give them bouquets of roses instead of ashes, messages of joy instead of news of doom, a praising heart instead of a languid spirit. Rename them "Oaks of Righteousness" planted by God to display his glory.

Isaiah 61:2-3

God has given each of us the gift of His Spirit, He lives within our hearts. Because of this, He empowers us to comfort those that mourn, care for the needs of others, and give hope to the hopeless. We have the ability to speak life over others in such a way that it brings joy rather than doom. We have the power to be thankful for all that we are blessed with, rather than disgruntled for what is not ours.

The enemy of your heart and soul does not want you to know this! He wants you to believe you are powerless and unable to rise up above the destruction around you, but God has defeated your enemy! His grace is abundant in your time of need and His love is never ending.

I have experienced days that I felt as if I was defeated. I crumpled under the lies of the enemy and let him convince me that I could not be the women God created me to be. I learned to cope with the situations in life in unhealthy ways, not pressing into the truth of Jesus. But, His pursuit of me continued to pull me up out of the muck and rescue me from the lies that chained me down. His heart pulsed for me and renewed my mind. This is what the power of the Spirit does. If you are feeling weighed down by the lies and pain in life, the circumstances that surround you, call out to Him to rescue you today and bring deliverance to your being.
